Frequently asked questions
What is an end grain cutting board?
An end grain cutting board is made by aligning the wood fibers vertically, so your knife cuts between the fibers instead of across them. This makes the board more durable, knife-friendly, and longer-lasting.
Why is end grain better for my knives?
End grain boards are softer on blades because the fibers “open” when cut and “close” afterward. This reduces dulling and keeps your knives sharper for longer.
Is this cutting board safer than plastic?
Yes. Unlike plastic boards, end grain wood does not shed microplastics into food. It also has natural antibacterial properties that help keep your kitchen more hygienic.
What type of wood is used?
Our boards are made from Walnut, Maple and Sapele woods, carefully selected for food safety and durability.
How do I clean the board?
Wash gently with warm water and mild soap. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Dry immediately with a towel and let it air-dry upright.
How often should I oil the board?
We recommend oiling with mineral oil once every 3–4 weeks, or whenever the board looks dry. Regular oiling prevents cracking and keeps the wood protected.
